Fibroscan
The FDA has recently authorised FibroScan Testing, a new non-invasive diagnostic instrument. It examines the liver for scarring or fibrosis, which various liver disorders can cause. The FibroScan test is rapid, painless, and simple, like a standard liver ultrasound. It is also a non-invasive alternative to conventional liver biopsy, used to determine the extent of liver damage.
If you have one of the following long-term liver problems, Dr. Sanjay Gupta at Health Care Imaging Centre, Meerut, may suggest that you take a FibroScan test:

Four hours before the test, you shouldn't eat or drink anything.

On your right side, between your ribs, some gel will be put on your skin. Then, a little probe will be slid gently over your skin to determine whether or not your liver has fibrosis. It takes 15 minutes to do a fibroscan, and it doesn't hurt.
After the test
Your skin will be washed to get rid of the gel, and you can leave the procedure suite. You will be able to get home on your own.
FibroScan FAQs
We can tell you what a liver FibroScan is and what it shows. FibroScan is a technology that Dr. Sanjay Gupta at Health Care Imaging Centre, Meerut, uses to find out how healthy the liver is.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta at Health Care Imaging Centre, Meerut, may suggest getting a liver fibroscan. In that case, your liver health will probably be checked, and liver fibrosis, which can show how bad liver disease or damage is, will be looked at. Transient elastography, an advanced ultrasound technique, is used by FibroScan to measure how stiff the liver is.
The FibroScan is a way to determine your liver's health and what stage of liver disease you and your care team may face without hurting you. The FibroScan is used to find out how stiff the liver is. This shows whether or not there are scars and how bad those scars are.
The FibroScan is like a fibrosis scan; it can look at scarring to diagnose a liver disease or track how it is getting worse.
Scarring of the liver in its early stages is called fibrosis. Much worse scarring is called cirrhosis.
If you've been trying to decide between FibroScan and ultrasound, you should think of FibroScan as your ultrasound. When a FibroScan is done on the liver, an ultrasound of the liver is done simultaneously. This is because liver FibroScan uses a technique called transient elastography. This type of ultrasonography that uses ultrasound has been made better.
This should be reassuring to many patients who are just becoming familiar with the FibroScan for the first time. Ultrasounds are standard treatments that many of us have undergone previously and found to be relatively short and painless.
After your appointment, you should expect to get results within a few business days.
